How Kelzia Travel handles information

Effective 17 July 2026

Private travel planning

Kelzia Travel is a private family planning service. It processes account identity and access roles, trip plans, bookings, budgets, messages, journal entries, and files that authorized family members choose to add.

Journey recordings

The iPhone app keeps an active journey recording on the device. It does not continuously stream or automatically upload live location. After a recording is finished, the trip administrator may deliberately upload the travelled route, timestamps, location samples, segments, and named stops to the private family portal.

Uploaded journey data is linked to the signed-in account and trip so it can be mapped, presented, compared with the plan, and later connected to trip memories. It is visible only to authorized family users and is not included in ordinary Hermes chat context. When an administrator explicitly starts a journey analysis, Hermes receives one-use access to that recording's route metrics, a bounded set of rounded route samples, and resolved start, finish, stop, and corridor context. The resulting sourced report is saved with the recording. Journey data remains available until it is no longer useful or removal is requested.

Google Maps Platform

For identified restaurants, hotels, attractions, parking, and other places, the portal stores a stable Google Place ID. When an authorized user views a place card, the portal requests current place details and a photo from Google Maps and displays the required attribution, author credit, source link, and reporting link. Completed journey recordings may also be drawn directly from their uploaded GPS coordinate sequence over a Google basemap; the trace is not road-matched or converted into navigation. A bounded set of route anchors may be reverse geocoded to provide address and locality context. Google photo references, media URLs, and image bytes are not added to the permanent trip library.

Google Maps content is governed by the Google Maps terms, and Google processes information under the Google Privacy Policy.

Authentication, retention, and sharing

Authentication uses Kelzia identity through Authentik and Google sign-in. Session cookies keep users signed in and enforce access. Trip information remains available while it is useful for family planning, record keeping, or storytelling, and is shared only with authorized users or services deliberately used for a requested travel workflow.
